About
Mission
Growing up in London, Tayo was inspired by some of the world’s most iconic superheroes — from Spider-Man and Batman to the legendary X-Men era led by Jim Lee. These characters shaped his imagination and love for storytelling, but there was always something missing. None of those heroes reflected the city he grew up in or the culture that surrounded him. London — with its energy, diversity, and identity — was absent from the worlds he admired.
Rather than wait for that to change, Tayo decided to create it himself.
In 2010, he introduced Mr Karma, one of the first Black superheroes to come out of London. While the comic ran for a limited number of issues, it marked an important step — proving that these stories could exist and that there was space for new voices and new perspectives in the superhero genre.
But the vision didn’t stop there.
TREKS represents the next evolution of that idea.
At its core, TREKS is the story of Daniel, a 14-year-old London schoolboy unexpectedly chosen by a powerful force to bring balance to the universe. Thrust into a responsibility far greater than himself, Daniel must navigate not only extraordinary challenges, but also the everyday realities of growing up — school, identity, pressure, and self-doubt.
Set against the backdrop of London, TREKS brings the city to life in a way rarely seen in superhero storytelling. From its iconic landmarks to its streets and communities, London isn’t just a setting — it’s part of the story. The goal is to blend grounded, relatable experiences with high-stakes action on a cinematic scale, inspired by the energy and spectacle of modern superhero universes.
TREKS is more than just one story — it’s the beginning of something bigger.
Through Coooys Studios, Tayo is building a new universe of original characters and stories, with new intellectual properties set to launch from 2027 and beyond. Each project is rooted in the same mission: to create bold, authentic, and visually powerful stories that resonate globally while staying true to their origins.
This is the foundation.
This is the start of a new kind of hero —
born in London, shaped by its culture, and built for the world.
Workshops - Giving Back
At Coooys Studios, the mission goes beyond creating heroes — it’s about helping the next generation discover the hero within themselves.
Through school drawing workshops, Tayo works directly with young people across London, introducing them to the power of storytelling, creativity, and self-expression. These sessions are designed to show students that their ideas matter — that the characters they imagine and the stories they carry are unique, valuable, and worth bringing to life.
From sketching their own superheroes to building worlds inspired by their everyday experiences, students are encouraged to draw from who they are and where they come from. The workshops don’t just teach art skills — they build confidence, creativity, and belief.
Because for many young people, especially those who rarely see themselves represented, the biggest barrier isn’t talent — it’s the belief that their voice matters.
These workshops aim to change that.
By creating a space where imagination is celebrated and individuality is encouraged, Coooys Studios is helping to inspire a new generation of creators — young people who aren’t waiting for permission, but are ready to tell their own stories, in their own way.
Because the future of storytelling belongs to them.
